  1. One of the most difficult games I ever saw, and the beauty of it was in the moves that Magnus missed and the engine showed to us, you could even see or guess them, (like that Cf6) but find all the moves to continue well later is very hard even for top players, bc you need to do all the perfect moves or you could get into a very bad position easely and only engines can do it.

  2. Γιάννης Φειδίας Τσίκολης says:

It 's a little bit one sided pesrpective when you allways analyse games that Marnus wins and almost never games the games that he lose.

  3. Thank you for the excellent recap, Agadmator xxx Go Magnus, GO!

  4. Magnus won 4 out of 4 vs Nordibek?

  6. Why not slide the rooke to h3 first to pin the pawn before moving the knight

  7. Today I learned pinned pieces can still check and mate.

  8. I wonder if the King should be allowed to move into a pinned pieces check…it makes sense, the piece can not legally move so it shouldn’t be attacking either. Similarly to how you can achieve a checkmate beside an attacking piece that is pinned. I think it would add an insane amount of complications and we all know chess needs more complications 😂 it would add King moves that come with check!

Fun game though great work as always Agadmator !

  9. Spoilers! Before I could click the link you said who won last year

  10. Very interesting game on many levels beginning with Magnus's early pawn row on rank 3. Much to learned from this one.

  11. When the ladies are playing? Make their games too.

  12. I'm 3 for 3 on Pause the Video moments which means I'm lucky.

  13. I saw a game that was really heartwarming, I watched this game five times

  14. Amazing game by the maestro Magnus, he even wins when he misses wins. I guess he just gives himself some many different ways to destroy his opponent he’s spoilt for choice. And Thanks Agadmator for bringing the game and the strategies alive.

  15. Agad please, talk about Sara Khadem. She removed her headscarf in this tournament and she will face prosecution by the regime in Iran. Please be the voice of Iranian women!

  16. You could fry an egg on last year's game 🙂

  17. Didnt Hikaru just beat Magnus in the rapid championship?

  18. Does the engine say Qc4 over an immediate Nf7? Because Qc4 allows Re7, which fizzles the power of the incoming Nf7.

Edit: and the black knight at the bottom is still forking the two rooks.

  19. That G4 move was played by Fischer against Andersson in a fairly similar position (almost the same 😅) in 1970.

  20. * Gasp! * Medo is back on the sofa! I haven't seen that weird dude in weeks!

  21. Magnus Carlsen: The Sea Biscuit of chess.

  22. Abdusattorov doesn't like grabbing free pawns it seems. He didn't grab it against So in the SCC either.

  23. Is there any way to add a clock? It gives so much context in a rapid and shorter time controlled formats. That said, you're the best chess breakdown around and I'll watch whatever you post.

  24. I wanted a focused analysis with quality, so I came to this channel. Thanks for all your hard work over the years.

  25. As a Wrestler: I appreciate rapid chess. Missed best chess move and missed best wrestling move lead fight in new direction; after player’s last old move it not the best. I, feel Rapid Chess Games and Wrestling allowed for player not as good as opponent set up some type of technique trap the opponent. Typically if trap does not just work it leads to a player that set trap is almost certain to lose. But if trap just work then a player setting that trap typically wins. Plus, in Rapid Chess it not uncommon for the losing player will admit: Brilliant Combination of moves by opponent a winner.

  26. Very nice ending still, both kings trapped in the corners, threatened by the bishops that dominate the rooks. 🙂

  27. #suggestion Donchenko vs Rapport round 6 world rapid championship. That is a very interesting pawn structure

  28. This is how a most experienced master evaluates the situation on the battlefield.
The opponent has only the illusion of a defense as I go straight for the kill.

I would have never considered to let the rook be captured (with check!).
But apparently, Nodirbek doens't have a good follow-up which you have to go all in. Just spectacular.
2023 is going to be another great year for chess brilliancies.

  29. Carlsen is sharper than his looks and games he plays. Amazing!

  30. Magnus could have found Qc4 if he had a bit more time .. We r very lucky to watch him in the modern era… 👍👍🙏🏼🙏🏼

  31. mozes li nam dati negde vreme ako ima, can you maybe give us timers somewhere on the screen?

  32. There was s , there is , there will be the only Magnus

  33. Chess is frustratingly beautiful, its the first time I see a pieace capture that falks everything yet not winning

  34. Dang gone, Magnus with a nice little curve at the end.

  35. Wowww incredible one of my favorite games by magnus

  36. Rapid champion means he is probably a little nervous – person

  37. With me the situation would be "now as a move 1 we have a completely new game"

  38. 6:00 are you being sarcastic jn that formality that magnus could have played, rooks doubled on g file and no defense between king and g8
