  1. Exciting 1st round! Anton looks like Robert Downey Jr.

  2. It would have been good to undo the delay on Hikaru's video in post-production.

  3. Fabi…. insane accuracy in Blitz I'm in awe.

Chess psychology is so beautiful. Every decision has pros and cons. In Hikaru's mind he has great chances to at least draw with Black in 3+2 against Fabi, forcing bullet, especially with Fabi's tendency for time trouble, and, historically, reduced accuracy under time pressure… In Fabi's mind why would he want to face in-form 2800 Rapid FIDE rated Hikaru with White at all? Draw agreed, both players gain a psychological victory, and in the end, Hikaru gets mated! This is poetic justice, how insanely accurate Fabi was under time pressure… It's deserved because of how clinical and time efficient Hikaru is, with his super human calculation and accuracy, he has this invincibility… But against Caruana he should give some respect and think, with +2 the game can basically go on for ever, but he tries to put on the pressure early, again. Great game.

  4. It will be fun to see hikaru reacting to getting checkmated

  5. Fabi with a great interview. Giving accolades to Hikaru and Commentators, and being positive and humble. I liked hearing his thoughts.

    (Corrected Hikaru's name)

  6. anna and robert are awesome. Such good energy

  7. Hahahaha- Hikaru such an idiot. Played draw and was thinking he will crush caruana. And it backfired nicely.

  8. Wow fabi was brilliant throughout. His speed chess skills have improved massively since his world championship loss.

  9. @55:37 – impressed by GM Hess's commentary (by contrast his co-anchor's commentary is weak) where he saw that white Kd3 draws. This is impressive since you have to be able to calculate instantly that both sides pawns can queen. I had to set up the board and think for a few minutes to do it but Hess could do it live and with just a few seconds. Impressive. Here is the position: 8/8/1p6/2k5/P1P4p/1P1K3R/6r1/8 b – – 0 0 black to move, Rg3+ only draws
