Day 1 report on ChessBase India:

The Opera Euro Rapid is the third event of the Champions Chess Tour. It is a 16-player event and India no.3 GM Vidit Gujrathi will be participating. These are the players of the tournament:

Magnus Carlsen, Ding Liren, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Levon Aronian, Alexander Grischuk, Wesley So, Anish Giri, Maxime Vachier Lagrave, Teimour Radjabov, Lenier Dominguez Perez, Hikaru Nakamura, Jan Krzysztof Duda, Vidit Gujrathi, Daniil Dubov, Sam Shankland and Matthias Bluebaum

The Opera Euro Rapid starts on Saturday February 6th and will conclude on Sunday February 14th which is also on Valentine’s day! Once again there’s a 3-day preliminary round-robin stage of rapid chess (15+10), before the top 8 players advance to the knockout stage. The knockout stage is exactly like the the previous events in this tour where each match is played over two days, with four rapid games each day. If the match score is tied 1-1 after the second day, the players will then play two 5+3 blitz games followed by, if needed – Armageddon.

Live commentary by IM Sagar Shah, Amruta Mokal and other guests.

  1. Sagar sir, It would be helpful for Vidit too if we start saying things as it is instead of sugar coating them and addressing the fact that Vidit even though quite often gets good positions out of the openings is not able to convert these advantages .

  2. Well done AG. I do Feel sad for VD; He does work hard but looks like time pressure is getting to him. I am sure he knows that and hopefully he is working hard on that.

  3. I hope Vidit will play good today,it is hard to play well against these top players
But we support him,We believe him

  4. So is this stream not official stream of chess 24 as it was in earlier tournament???

  5. Sir can you please analyze Vidit vs Nepo.🙏

  6. I hope VD wins 1 or 2 games tomorrow so that he can get top 8.He is working very hard but I think he should not feel disheartened. He should just analyse his games and he is good to go

  7. Vidit's games are best to learn END GAMES !!

  8. What in the hell has happened with ding liren? 😯

  9. Peter leko summed it up beautifully in C24 stream he said whenever people says vd is winning he isn't surprised because vd is a strong player and it's just that he didn't have enough experience playing in these top tournaments in sometime he will gain it and will surely be one of the top elites

  10. First in skilling open then in arthing master then in Tata Steel and then in this no indian player has performed well good to see high level games , anish performing well but it feels bad as an indian fan

  11. This is for some people in the comments section.. Everyone must be knowing Novak Djokovic, nadal and federer.. They have dominated the tennis field for 15+ years.. Does that mean the number 24 player is good for nothing just because he can't win tournaments??

For God's sake, he is number 24 in the ENTIRE FREAKING WORLD! He is the 24th best player among everyone who lives on this planet!

Let the Gravity of that statement sink in before commenting shit about professional players ffs.

Watch the matches, enjoy the chess, get sad if he loses, happy if he wins. BUT you have no F****ing right to abuse him and troll him.

  12. Can you please title your and Agadmator collab video as "Sagarmator OP" 😛

  13. Don't worry guys Vidit is the Mortal of chess
    Same situation

  14. Alireza said in Levy's and Anna's stream that at the beginning of him playing chess he watched vand learned from agadmator! 😱

  15. What was the name of the book to learn Data science?
